In the crowded marketplace like today's world, consumers no longer have the attention span to listen for your USP. And your competitors will eventually catch up and eliminate any edge you may have within the next 6-9 months.

So what is important is your ESP - Emotional Selling Point. Consumers now want brands that can connect and relate to them like friends, and not salesmen who are constantly boasting about the greatest this and the biggest that. People make most decisions with their hearts. Hence building a long term relationship with your target audience is much more effective and sustainable.
